Using Installer Portal to inspect devices

The Installer Portal is a useful tool for spot-checking the health of devices in your fleet. As it is designed for mobile you can easily access it on your mobile device, whilst in your workshop, depot or yard and quickly review the Device Health status of an Assets device or easily update Asset details such as Asset Label, ODO or Rego.
Note: To access the Installer Portal you will need a User account.

Accessing Installer Portal

  • Log into your account;
    • If you only have access to Installer Portal it will load immediately
    • If you have access to other modules, you will need to navigate to the Installer Portal;
      • Click on the System menu on the main menu
      • Click on Installer Portal

Reviewing a Device

  • Once you have loaded Installer Portal you will see a list of all devices under your account
  • If you are an existing user most if not all of your devices will be listed as Online or with a different Device Health (Review, Investigate, Offline, Not Deployed)
  • Use the search bar to search for the device you wish to inspect
    • You can search using the IMEI number on the device
    • OR you can search using the Asset Label
    • You can also click the search filters and filter the device list by;
      • Group
      • Tags
      • Device Health
      • Device Status
  • Once you have identified the device you would like to inspect, it’s Device Health can be seen in the Installer Portal list

  • You can then click on the device to load the device information page, where you can;
    • Edit the Asset Label
    • Update the ODO
    • Update the Runtime (Engine Hours)
    • Add a Note
    • Upload a document/file/image
  • If you would like some support relating to a device, click the Phone Support button;
    • If you have accessed the Installer Portal on a mobile phone your phone app will launch and dial the Support number
    • If you have accessed the Installer Portal on a different device type, it will try to launch an available communication app such as Skype or FaceTime to call the Support Number

Add Notes to the device/asset

  • Click on the Notes tab at the bottom of the screen
  • Type your notes where it says ‘Enter New Note…’
  • Click the Save button to save the note against the device/Asset

Upload a document to the device/asset

  • Click on the Docs tab
  • Click on the Choose File button

  • You file browser will open on your device
  • Select the file/image you would like to upload
  • The file will be uploaded
  • You can then edit the file name and description
